How to apply as a volunteer

NO POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE AQUARIUM OPENS
    • We have positions available for keen people for 1 or more days each week. 
      • Minimum commitment is 40 days per year, usually 1-2 days per week.
      • Often suitable for young applicants (over 12y), students at college or university or retired teachers, engineers or housewives. 
    • Front line educators receive extensive training and share information with all the visitors.  They are demonstrators for science modules or aquarium displays. Our education department offers many exciting opportunities for volunteers within our School and Youth Programs.
    • Aquarium Collections Husbandry is for people who are interested in learning more about the care of fishes, reptiles, invertebrates, small mammals and amphibians. Volunteers work behind the scenes with our knowledgeable staff looking after the animals.
    • Different skills are needed for other volunteer opportunities - Exhibit design, fundraising, conservation, graphic design, horticulture, human resources, library sciences, marketing and audience research.
    • Our most popular program gives highly qualified divers the opportunity to hand- feed the animals in our large Reef exhibits while giving public presentations.
