Project Timeline for Year 2008
Month January February March April
- There has been lots of rain this month, so all construction work has been concentrated in dry locations. The toilet block has been built and, for the most part, plastered. The roof has been extended over the bat cave and begining of the front deck. The Borneo Endemic display has been begun. - The aquarium dome framework is complete, along with the primaflex outer shell. The elctricians are installing the wiring inside before the internal walls are completed.

- The discovery centre’s core module components are finished, so we hosted a science discovery exhibition at Menara Tun Mustapha. We had over 1000 people visiting, including half a dozen school groups. Naturally the snakes were the most amazing thing, but everybody tried everything.

-We managed to get the crane onto site for a couple of days and manuvered the last few exhibits into place. These include the oil-rig display and the drop off coral tank. The foundation wall for the discovery dome has begun along with finishing the cupola roof for the aquarium dome.

- The exhibition on Pulau Bangii is going well and providing some welcome capitol in the area. We have several large stingrays including a giant thornback ray who is almost five feet in diameter and some beautiful leopard spotted whiprays.

- An exceedingly unusual Bowmouth Guitarfish (Rhina ancylostoma), which has the head of a stingray and the tail of a shark, has been added to our collection this month.

- The ticket booth between the two domes is under construction, and the roof has been extended over the front deck to this point.

May June July August
 - Following the success of the Science exhibition at Yayasan Sabah in February we were invited to both SMK Badin and SM La Salle to hold mini science exhibitions for them.

- The framework construction of the discovery dome has begun and it's going much faster than the aquarium dome. The welders are barely two steps ahead of the carpenters with the primaflex closing in behind. There's no time for snoozing on this job.
- The discovery dome is going up, the framework is now complete and the Primaflex is nearly done. The upper link between the domes is finished and the roof of that section is being installed.

- The bamboo sharks are breeding, must be something in the water, we now have a dozen babies in our nursery not to mention twenty-five adults.

- Construction of the discovery dome is almost over, the floor supports are down ready for concreting and the electrics are being installed.

- A letter of support has been received from the Ministry of Education.

- We rescued two 12ft Reticulated Pythons from a cooking pot in Keningau and nineteen baby reticulated pythons from Chinese medicine in Dongongon. This brings our total python complement to 43.

 - Finished the second dome and poured both upper floors with lightweight cement.

- Kitchen tiling completed.
September

- Installed windows into most of the fresh water ecosystem tanks and filled with water.

- Toilet tiling completed.
